Tricky drum

"Drum kit I made on the beach in Panama, the snare drum is bottle tops taped onto a tray and the bass drum pedal is sprung with boxer shorts...don't suppose it's still there?..."

Genial!

Freakin' Brothers

I hope they use condoms.

This is a clip from Viva Variety which was a fake variety show featuring various skits mainly performed by ex-The State members. The announcer guy is Tom Lennon who's now on Reno 911. So yeah, it's a joke, they weren't really playing with their penises...

Hardcore 3 year old boy

3 year old brother at his preschool gradation.

Comment from youtube: "Ok everyone, he is NOT on crack, he does NOT have ADD or Autism, (as far as we know)he is just a crazy little boy with a lot of energy. Yes, he is my brother but my HALF brother, mind you. So no more rude comments about illnesses and disorders. But I do agree, he's ridiculously funny. I've been meaning to video tape him around the house and catch some more of his madness on camera. He has a younger brother, who is now three and he has become quite the joker."

I think he will be good hardcore singer :)

Professor Gizmo one-man-band (Gary A. Krueger)

Most people look at this man with admiration, some see him as trivial or even silly. I know that without men like this a lot of very personal, and amazing music would not be heard. Too many people are caught up in perfection to hear peoples soul anymore. I for one love this and any kind of new thing im graced enough to hear. Congrats to real people.

Professor Gizmo one-man-band plays The Saint Louis Blues on The Lonesome Pine Special, "One Man Band Spectacular" 1991.

Giga stars

Hyper talanted musicians...

Here's Mr. Herman's audition that made him qualify for that event. Madonna's song!

Mark sings Wes - Alane:

Translation of the dutch part: Thanks to EnigmaDrath!

First of all, he (Mark) was singing (what was according to him) an African song.
*sing song and does silly dance and cracks judges up*
Henk-Jan (HJ): Do you speak any African?
Mark: No, only this.
HJ: But you have no idea what you're singing about?
Mark: No. My parents are Dutch and we aren't negros (translates directly to "negers" in Dutch means the same, but isn't considered (that) offensive)

HJ (echoing the other judges' reactions): Really? I would never have guessed that (you aren't black) looking at you. And, if I may ask, what's wrong with your eyes?
Mark: Oh, I thought, you know, "dress to impress". Wear cool sunglasses. My mom (judge interrupts because he didn't hear him the first time; he used slang) said that I should wear an entire African outfit and rub myself brown (to resemble a black person, which would have made for even MORE comedy) but yeah.

HJ: Well, you have amused us tremendously, but you won't get any farther than this. Can I see your eyes, just once?
Mark shows eyes
There's some controversy that the woman judge says, upon seeing his eyes, "Nou ja, mongool" ("Yeah, well, Mongol"; Mongool is derogatory Dutch for a mentally retarded person), but she actually says "Nou ja, mag ook" ("Yeah, well, can too", or "It's permissible")

Bennie sings Bon Jovi - I'll be there for you:

Weird people at auditions of idols:

Good work :)

Wally Eastwood began charming audiences at the age of 17. Born into a six-generation family of acrobatic trapeze artisits, it didnt take long before Wally decided to keep his feet on the ground. Yes, he was affraid of heights!

Funny instruments: the daxophone

The daxophone, invented by Hans Reichel, is a custom made musical instrument of the friction idiophone category.

It consists of a thin wooden blade fixed in a wooden block (often attached to a tripod), which holds one or more contact microphones. Normally, it is played by bowing the free end, but it can also be struck or plucked, which propagates sound in the same way a ruler halfway off a table does. These vibrations then continue to the wooden-block bass, which in turn is amplified by the contact microphone(s) therein. A wide range of voice-like timbres can be produced, depending on the shape of the instrument, the type of wood, where it is bowed, and where along its length it is stopped with a separate block of wood (fretted on one side) called the "dax."

Reichel has documented the construction of the instrument in a way that a skilled woodworker could build his own. Plans are downloadable from his website, with the nice twist that a collection of proven shapes for the blade is delivered in the file format of a font, thus playing on Reichel's other profession as a typeface designer.

Daxophone is one of the stupidest instrument i have ever seen! Congratulations!

Gerry Phillips

At age 47, Gerry Phillips is becoming an overnight sensation . . . and it’s only taken 38 years.

People are simply amazed at his jaw dropping ability to play virtually any song with only his hands. His performances are both astounding and, at times, hilarious.

Why does he play songs with his hands? Because he can!

Gerry has been called everything from a “hand musician”, “gunecologist”, “hand farter”, “hand flatulator”, and a “manualist”.

In 1969, when he was 9 years old, Gerry went to a party, and the photographer (to keep the kids quiet) made a single squeak with his hands. Within minutes Gerry went back to him and showed him that he could also do it.

Gerry continued to practice at home. Soon he could produce musical notes, then simple songs. After more practice, Gerry could “hand fart” songs with his new and unique technique better than with the musical instruments he was learning to play. So he dumped the 4 musical instruments.

In the high school talent show, Gerry played Beethoven’s 5th, the Can Can, and the Blue Waltz to a raucous standing ovation.

The following year he played Black Magic Woman and You Make Me Fee Like Dancing. In his last year it was Sir Duke.

When Gerry was 16 he was taken to a bar in Dearborn, Michigan where Bobby Lewis was playing. Gerry was asked to perform, and he was an immediate hit with the crowd. No one had seen or heard anything like it before.

Soon Gerry was sitting in with top local acts such as the Teen Angels who refer to Gerry as the 8th Wonder of the World!

Once Gerry began posting his videos on You Tube, he became an overnight sensation. Soon the emails started pouring in with requests for more videos and DVD’s. Not just from America, but the entire world. With commercials and television requests coming in, Gerry is now getting the recognition this unique and gifted artist deserves.

People recognize Gerry for the serious musician he is. Sure it’s hysterical, but his talent is even more amazing than it is funny.

Greg Pattillo

Greg Pattillo (b. 1977, Seattle, Washington) is a beatboxing flautist originally from Seattle, but now operates in Brooklyn, New York.

Patillo is recognized throughout the world for his redefinition of the flute sound. He was lauded by the New York Times as "the best person in the world at what he does." His performance videos on YouTube, showcasing "beatbox flute," have been viewed more than 12 million times.

Patillo earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music as a student of Joshua Smith, the principal flautist of the Cleveland Orchestra. After a summer spent as the acting principal flute of Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Patillo moved to San Francisco where he was a founding member of the Collaborative Arts Insurgency and the 16th and Mission Thursday night gathering for performers. It was there that "beatbox flute" materialized in its present state..

Patillo enjoys freelancing as a soloist, and is the flautist of the group PROJECT, the Lalo Quintet, as well as a featured performer at The Box in New York City.

In June 2007 Pattillo was named one of 21 winners of the Metropolitan Transit Authority's "Music Under New York" program. Among other things the award gives Pattillo an official permit, of sorts, to play music in the subway.

Pattillo was also seen on an episode of Nickelodeon's TV series, iCarly.

Bravo Pattillo!

Sabrina Salerno

Very interesting music.

After winning a beauty contest in her native region, Liguria, she started modeling, and in 1985 made her TV debut in the prime time show Premiatissima on Canale 5. That same year, her debut single was released: "Sexy girl", produced by Claudio Cecchetto, the single became a Top 20 hit in her native Italy.

She released her first album in late 1987, simply titled Sabrina, which soon became her stage name in the 1980s. In addition to "Sexy Girl", the album included Sabrina's international top 5 breakthrough, the smash hit single "Boys (Summertime Love)", which has sold more than 1,5 million copies to date worldwide, and "Hot Girl", which made the top 10 in five European countries.

Wonder why?

Lasse Gjertsen vs Michel Gondry

If you are'nt a musician, the technique helps you! Funny clip from this norwegian guy Lasse:

Comment of Lasse:

“I've taken my hyperactive editing style a step further! Hope you'll enjoy it!

Oh shit, I forgot to put this in the video, and now it's too late to change it:
Thanks to my friend Mattis for letting me borrow the drum kit. Also thanks to the person letting me use her piano, but she didn't want her name here :P

And now; to you people saying I'm ripping off Michel Gondry: I've seen his video with the drumkit called "Drumb and Drumber". It's here on youtube somewhere. His video and my video are different because of one very important detail: Gondy filmed himself doing drumming sequences and LOOPED them, while I hit each drum and piano chord seperately and edited them together. This is a very big difference if you have any idea about video editing. Actually, there is a short sequence of 5 sec where he does cut the beat, but I didn't notice this until recently, which makes me an idiot. But I still don't think it's a rip off, only similar. SO one question to you guys: If I write a song which includes the words "love" and "tight", am I ripping off The Beatles?? :P I met Michel Gondry in Milan, Italy and asked him. He didn't really give me a clear answer, but it seemed like he thought so. Either that or he didn't like my clothes. Lol.”

Finally the following video is from the mentioned Michel Gondry:

I think the winner is Lasse... Congratulations!

Michael Angelo

Michael Angelo Batio is an American instrumental/heavy metal guitarist and columnist from Chicago, Illinois. He attended Northeastern Illinois University and received a bachelor's degree in music theory and composition. Guitar One Magazine named him the fastest guitar player of all time. He has got the best T-shirt of a guitarist!

Batio has been playing guitar since the age of ten, and could play faster than his teacher within two years. He plays as a right-handed person even though he is left-handed. He has stated at guitar clinics that he is ambidextrous teaching himself to play two guitars at the same time — either in synchronized or separate harmonies.

The Double Guitar is one of his innovations, which he commonly uses live, but never in studio recordings.

He also invented and successfully played the very first 'quad' guitar. However, the instrument was stolen during a Nitro show in El Paso, Texas, and only two of the four parts required for its assembly have ever been recovered. It is because of this that he has not played the quad guitar in many years. However, Dean Guitars recently finished production on a new quad guitar for Batio.

Another innovation of his is a type of string dampener (specifically "The MAB String Dampener"), a guitar accessory attachable behind the nut of the guitar and flipped into active position during performance. The string dampener eliminates unnecessary buzz and noise from the guitar's strings, allowing the player to easily use legato techniques and finger-tapping techniques without any unwanted sounds. He is also noted for his "MAB Over-Under technique", which he invented, where he flips his hand over and under the neck, approaching the strings from above, then below, instead of from under the neck like other guitar players.
